Admission Requirements
The following general admission requirements must be met in order for an applicant to be eligible for admission to programs at the Dominium Institute:
  1. The applicant must be 18 years of age. If the applicant is less than 18 years of age, a parent/guardian signature is required to enroll the student in the program.
  2. Applicants must present a Valid picture ID.
  3. Applicants must present a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Applications to the Practical Nursing and Associate of Science in Nursing program must also meet the following requirements:
  1. Submit a clear drug test.
  2. Satisfactory completion of a Florida Department of Law Enforcement Level 2 Background Check.
  3. Provide evidence of meeting immunization requirements by providing evidence that you are free of active tuberculosis, and have immunizations for measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella.
  4. Prospective nursing students must sit for the Test of Essential Academic Skills (“TEAS”) admission assessment. The TEAS will be offered to each applicant only 3 times in a twelve (12) month period.
    • Associate of Science in Nursing applicants receiving a 60% or higher score on the TEAS will be eligible to continue with the enrollment process.
    • Practical Nursing applicants receiving a 60% or higher score on the TEAS will be eligible to continue with the enrollment process.
  5. Provide proof of current certification by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  6. Affiliated Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) card with Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers.
  7. Interview with the Program Director.
PREREQUISITE: Candidates applying to the Associate of Science in Nursing program must have earned at least 18 general education credits prior to being accepted into Dominium Institute and provide an official transcript with a grade of C or higher to prove completion of general education courses. General Education Courses Accepted: College Algebra, Biology, English Composition, General Psychology, Humanities and Lifespan Human Growth and Development.
Enrollment Process
The first step in the enrollment process is to tour the institution and meet with a school official.
Personal Interview
A personal interview with each applicant is required prior to acceptance into the school. We encourage you to bring your friends and family members to the interview. Both the applicant and the family can learn about the training programs. The personal interview also gives the institution an opportunity to evaluate the applicant and determine eligibility.
Acceptance Into the Institution
  • Final acceptance to the program will be contingent upon the results of the medical form.
  • The applicant will be informed of the admissions decision once all requirements have been met.
